I promise. I just stopped posting for the weekend. The long weekend! It's been seriously crazy around here and the computer has just taken a back burner. Considering I made a ton of food for a gathering this weekend, I did pretty good. Not completely on track, that's for sure but very good. It was the leftovers that were the killer. They always are. I barely ate while cooking and actually at the party but after so much came home, I nibbled way too much. The shakes were actually a blessing throughout this stressful mess. Several times the family just ran to McD's for something to eat with all the running around. The shakes gave me a quick way to get something good in. So I haven't been tracking but I'm planning to get back on that immediately! Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-42932119347138062392012-06-19T23:30:00.000-05:002012-06-20T06:42:23.844-05:00Day 19 ~ Body by Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/19/12Breakfast - Body by Vi Shake
Snack - GF crackers, leftover fajita mix
Lunch - Body by Vi Shake
Snack - couple of pieces of cheese
Dinner - Chili with spaghetti squash, GF crackers
Snack - Sweet Potato Ice Cream

Today I ate well but ate too large of portions. I need to stop buying the GF crackers. They are a weakness for me. I love to dip things with crackers. I didn't eat a ton but certainly ate more than necessary. Because of the crackers. I'm the only one who eats the sweet potato ice cream. So I'm giving the rest to my dad. No more for me! Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-29484998267485833122012-06-18T23:30:00.000-05:002012-06-19T06:46:39.622-05:00Day 18 ~ Body by Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/18/12Ok, no more hiccups on the Body by Vi 90 Day Challenge. I want this and it's time to take it seriously. I do better when I calorie count. I don't like using the online trackers as I cook a lot of food and it's too much time to enter the whole recipe in there. I just end up spending too much time on it and then just stop doing it altogether.

That's what this blog is for.

At least for the 90 day challenge. I'm using the blog to track my food. I like using calorieking.com to find the calories for certain things. Today I had 3 oz. of black beans, calorieking.com told me that it was 114 calories. I can live with that. The only way that I've liked the online trackers is when someone is doing it with me. But every friend keeps peetering out just like me.

Breakfast: Body by Vi shake (200 calories)
Snack: 3 oz. black beans, 2 tbsp. salsa, 1 tbsp. sour cream, 15 gluten free crackers (275 calories)
Lunch: Body by Vi Shake (200 calories)
Snack: Pineapple & baby carrots (100 calories)
Dinner: Chicken Fajitas - 6 oz. chicken, peppers & onions, 3 corn tortillas, guac (600)
Then I made the mistake of coming home after exercise class and eating a bit more GF crackers and guac (250)Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-82631558090111794522012-06-16T23:30:00.000-05:002012-06-17T15:33:25.287-05:00Day 16 ~ Body by Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/16/2012Breakfast - Body by Vi Shake
Dinner - Body by Vi Shake
Snack - Trail mix

We've got to stop eating out. That was one of the reasons I didn't mind paying for the Body by Vi shake system because I thought it would save us from going out to eat so much. Well, we've been stinking on that.

We went to the buffet for lunch but I ate good. Well, better than I would have before at least. Then another shake for dinner and a couple of handfuls of trail mix for a snack. I actually could have and should have gone without the trail mix. I know I had plenty of calories at the buffet. Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-9570390212555518722012-06-15T22:01:00.002-05:002012-06-15T22:01:31.280-05:00Day 15 ~ Body by Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/15/12Bad day.
I'm not even going to say what I ate. Nope. Let's just say it wasn't on plan and it totally not good.
I started the day good, then I decided to eat pizza. Not smart. I knew I'd get a gluten headache but I ate it anyways. Then I ate the shake for dinner. I ate some trail mix for a snack. I didn't eat a ton but I did eat too much. I need to stay away from trail mix. It's SO good but very high in calories!Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-46645875424297508362012-06-13T18:13:00.002-05:002012-06-13T18:13:36.388-05:00Day 13 ~ Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/13/12Weigh in Wednesday. I stayed the same in weight which is good considering I'm having my period and I ate Chinese food on Monday. Busy, busy day. I'm ready to drop.

Eating was good. I munched on watermelon this morning while cutting it for the kids. I kiped a sausage link for lunch that I hadn't planned on. Then I had leftover tacos for dinner. I ate too much but didn't do too bad. I'm lacking in the veggies a lot though.
Snack - Yogurt
Lunch - Body by Vi shake with 1/2 banana
Snack - little bit of ham with mustard, several bites of baked beans, yogurt
Dinner - Tacos

I still got to work on eliminating a snack. I'm not necessarily eating it because I'm hungry, just because I'm in the mood to eat something. That was the reason for the last yogurt and the bites of baked beans. All in all, I'm happy with how things are going. The cravings have stopped and my overwhelming desire to eat the house is gone. The afternoon is the hardest, I think it's force of habit to just munch in the afternoon. The Body by Vi shakes are plenty filling so I don't NEED to do that. I just need to listen to my body and remember that.Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-80298970097826493752012-06-11T20:42:00.002-05:002012-06-12T05:37:14.491-05:00Day 11 ~ Body By Bi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/11/12
Today was a better day than this weekend. I don't actually drink my first shake until about 9:30 or 10. So my "snack" is actually right at lunch time when I feed everyone else. Then "lunch" is about 2:00. Snack around 4 and dinner around 6:30. This seems to work out great. I drink 2 - 16 oz. glasses of water before breakfast and I try to drink another one with everything else that I eat.

Breakfast - Body By Vi Shake
Snack - Eggs with veggies
Lunch - Body By Vi Shake with 1/2 banana
Snack - Yogurt, a few homemade potato chips
Dinner - Baked Beans
Dessert - Sweet Potato Ice CreamDebbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-50473966977204672252012-06-10T21:29:00.001-05:002012-06-10T21:29:23.461-05:00Day 10 ~ Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/10/12Breakfast - Body by Vi shake with 1/2 banana
Snack - Chobani yogurt and an apple
Lunch ~ Body by Vi shake with orange flavor packet (yum!)
Snack - 4 mini Dove chocolates (darned husband for bringing them home!)
Dinner - Sweet and sour chicken and fried rice
Snack - Homemade potato chips (1/2 potato, tops)

Well, the chinese food probably wasn't the best choice for dinner. I'm sure I'll be bloated and salty tomorrow. Plus, I did eat too much of it. I let myself get TOO hungry. No more eating out!! We have to stop doing that! Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-39578363457013059772012-06-09T23:57:00.003-05:002012-06-09T23:57:44.422-05:00Day 9 ~ Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/9/12Today kinda stank. Kinda. I didn't stick to my planned diet but I do believe that I ate less than I would have had I not been on it. Not that this is the kind of day I want to have too often. At all. I plan to stick to what I was doing last week.

Breakfast: Body by Vi Shake with banana
Snack: 4 sausage links
Lunch : Potato salad, half a hot dog
Dinner: Grilled chicken with onion rings.

We had a super busy day and were gone all day. I had my shake and then make breakfast for the kids. They had a sleepover so I made waffles, sausage and bacon. The sausage didn't go over that well so I ended up eating some. Boy, did the my body NOT like that grease!! I could seriously feel it. Yuck. Then we had a picnic at the pool and I ate. Dinner was supposed to be a shake but I stupidly went with them to Culvers and ate. Still, I made a better choice than what I would have had I not been doing this. Same with the picnic. I normally would have eaten way more but the shake really made me so I wasn't too hungry. Tomorrow, a better day!!Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-30802798559729865172012-06-08T22:51:00.001-05:002012-06-08T22:51:17.091-05:00Day 8 ~ Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/8/12Busy, busy, busy day! I homeschool my kids and I do daycare. It's tough to homeschool while doing daycare so of course I look forward to summers where the school schedule isn't so rigid. What I seem to forget, is that I have more kids here in the summer as they don't have school. I've figured out that adding one more kid to the mix increases the chaos exponentially. I have kids ranging from 15 to 3 months. It's chaos. It will take some getting used to.

Breakfast: Body by Vi shake
Lunch: Asian Turkey Wraps, couple chicken nuggets and some fries
Dinner: Body by Vi shake with 1/2 banana
Snack: 3 breadsticks and a pizza crust from Little Ceasars
Snack again: Homemade ice cream

Lunch was stupid. I decided to eat lunch today rather than having a shake. I would have been find with my Asian turkey wraps but I picked at the kids' leftover food and ended up eating way too much.

See those snacks at the end? Uh, totally unnecessary. I ate them just because they were there. We bought the pizzas for the boys as they were having a sleepover and it was just too hot to cook. I had just had a shake and we were going to leave for the evening. Then I spotted a leftover crust and decided to eat it. I then craved sauce. So I dipped it in sauce. Well, there were the leftover breadsticks just sitting there so I ate and finished off the sauce. Dumb, dumb, dumb. The ice cream I just had a little of. It was an experiment and I wanted to try it.

So it was battle of the leftovers. If I had just avoided them, it would have been an awesome day. We're having an odd and busy weekend and I'm really, really hoping to stick to the plan!Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-88407997331374611162012-06-07T23:00:00.000-05:002012-06-08T06:44:33.518-05:00Day 7 ~ Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/7/12Chips are probably my favorite thing to eat and also my biggest weakness. I can't buy big bags of chips or I will eat them. A lot of them. I know this about myself. So when I went to a Pampered Chef party and found a chip maker for the microwave, I was thrilled. I made them for lunch for the kids today and everyone loved them. They crisped up wonderfully and tasted awesome. I then made a batch of sweet potato chips for me. They browned a little funny but tasted SOOOOO good! I am a huge sweet potato fan! So happy I can have chips again!

Breakfast: Body by Vi shake with pistachip
Snack - Homemade sweet potato chips, yogurt
Even thought we weighed in on June 1st, Wednesday is weigh in day. The challenge is for partners. So my daughter and I are doing it. Well, I'm happy to report that I am down 3.6 lbs and my daughter stayed the same. I might have messed up on hers. She claims she was .6 more than today but I wrote down the even number. I am happy with the results! I do realize that first week of dieting us usually the most lucrative as far as weight loss so I know that those won't be typical results. In any case, I am extremely pleased with the Body Bi Vi smoothies. They are satisfying and so good! Snacking is probably one of the most significant reasons I weigh as much as I do. I love nibbling and tasting all day.

What I love about this Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge is that I get to snack. I don't have to wait a long time inbetween for me to get my snack. The difference is that I'm trying to choose healthy snacks. Snacks that will satisfy and not leave me desperately wanting more. Ahem, granola bars. I love granola bars but they just leave me wanting more. Way too addictive, even if they are healthy.

Today I did good. I ate carrots and pea pods for a snack. The kids all love carrots here so I just leave a plate on the counter for everyone to much on. It's so much better than them asking for crackers all the time. The kids aren't big fans of pea pods, just me and my daughter love them. They have an awesome crunch which totally helps with the munchies! Then I grabbed a handful of blueberries on my way to bed. They were delicious!

Breakfast - Body by Vi Shake with Pistachio pudding mix. (major yum!)
Snack - Yogurt, carrots
Lunch - Body by Vi Shake with cocoa powder and PB2
Snack - Pea Pods
Dinner - Sweet Potatoes and BBQ Chicken Quesadilla
Snack - About a dozen blueberries

This week I'm submitting to What I Ate Wednesday at Peas and Crayons. This months theme is sensible snacking and I am determined to make the most of my snacks and make them good ones!
Here's why: They help motivate me. I love to hear what other people are doing and what works for them. I also like to encourage. I know how essential it is to have someone recognize your success and cheer you on. Likewise, it's nice to have others to be accountable to. When you mess up, it's nice to have someone telling you to, "Knock it off and get back on plan!" I need that.

So I have joined Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans's June Tune Up. Also Does This Butt Make My Blog Look Fat Summer Sizzle Slim Down. I also am going to be a part of Walking 5 miles a day for 20 days in June at Me and You Getting Fit at Home. This comes out to 12000 steps. This is more than I usually do so I need to step it up! Big time! Plus, I'm joining the challenge late, I'm already 4 days into it and I know I haven't walked 5 miles a day in the last 4 days. I'm up for the challenge!

Breakfast - Shake with 1/4 sugar free jello powder, chocolate fudge. Just added 45 calories to the drink.
Snack: I picked at a chicken while pulling the meat off of it.
Lunch - Shake with a banana in it.
Dinner - BBQ Chicken Quesadilla and fresh pineapple
Snack - Yogurt (I needed something after exercise class!)

I was not hungry all day. Seriously. I love these shakes. Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-5463769281100005242012-06-03T00:00:00.000-05:002012-06-04T06:25:30.934-05:00Day 3 ~ Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/3/12Weekends typically stink when it comes to dieting. I've been there. So often we're running around and have no idea what we'll be eating for lunch and if we're out later than expected, we'll just "grab something quick" for dinner. For a long time, we stopped doing that, we did really well. That changed. We've been eating out. A lot. Spending way too much money and eating too much and not healthy at all.

That's got to change again. We grabbed McDonalds. Again.

Breakfast - Shake with 1/2 apple and cinnamon
Snack - A few pecans and leftover veggies in the fridge
Lunch - Shake with 1/4 sugar free pudding packet, chocolate fudge. Yum.
Snack - Few bites of sons spaghetti
Dinner - McChicken from McDonalds.
Snack - Popcorn from movie theater. Ate too much.

We went to go see Hunger Games late last night. It was kinda a last minute thing, everyone was hungry so we all grabbed a McChicken from McDonalds. I shouldn't have gotten one. Not only did it have gluten that I don't need, I just want to stop eating out!
I've had a few people ask me about the shakes and the Body By Vi shakes are really good. I mean really, really good. I've been having fun adding different flavors to them but they don't necessarily need them. The only thing that I do like is adding ice, it makes it colder. But the flavor of the plain mix is great, it's like vanilla but sweet like cake mix. Not chalky, dry or bad at all.Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-41512640400323387722012-06-02T19:41:00.001-05:002012-06-02T19:41:31.586-05:00Day 2 ~ Body by Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/2/12My daughter is doing the Body by Vi 90 Day Challenge with me. She's been steadily gaining weight and we haven't been successful with just "trying to eat more healthy". I so don't want her to go through what I went through in high school and beyond. She's at the point where everything she owns is too tight and just not fitting right. Granted, the nutritional shake mix is costing me money at this point but I if she doesn't lose 15 lbs., we're going to have to buy her a new wardrobe. So I'm rationalizing that in the long run, not only is this extremely healthier but will also save us from having to buy her clothes in a larger size. She already has a bin of clothes that are too small that will fit her if she loses weight. Not to mention the fact that obviously she will feel so much better about herself. Teenage girls have enough to go through.

Breakfast - Shake with banana, cocoa powder and PB2
Snack - Pickles, cottage cheese with splenda and cinnamon
Lunch - Shake with peach flavor packet (they give you some nutritional flavor packet samples)
Dinner - Burrito and a half from taco bell.
Snack - popcorn

Hubs brought home 3 burritos from Taco Bell that his co-workers didn't eat. We split them so I had 1 1/2. Blech. I wish I didn't love taco bell so much. I looked up the stats and I probably had about 600 calories worth of cold burritos. I should have had the chili that I had PLANNED to have instead.
Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-89755007475931953022012-06-01T22:00:00.000-05:002012-06-02T19:42:54.571-05:00Day 1 ~ Body by Vi 90 Day Challenge ~ 6/1/12Yes, it's Day 1. Again. I've tried different things that last several months with no success. I need a plan. Any kind of plan. Simply eating less and avoiding desserts doesn't help. That's not a plan, it's just an idea. An idea that usually fails by the end of the day.

My friend took me to a nutritional meeting/party. They were talking about Body By Vi.'s 90 Day challenge. I had never heard of it. Well, the beautiful ladies who were hosting were extremely convincing. Despite the fact that I am broke and it does cost money, I decided to go for it. They do have a fairly simple way to ensure that you get your product free so I am working on that.

So my goal is to drink 2 shakes a day, have 2 small snacks and then a normal dinner. This works for me because I like to snack. I will be eating often, which is good. I do plan to stick with it for the 90 days. Yup, the whole summer.

I decided to resurrect this blog to help keep me accountable and just to write down what I eat. Hopefully I'll do it daily but who knows.

Breakfast - Regular shake
Snack - Egg whites and salsa
Lunch - Shake with a banana
Snack - Dried mango's and cherries, a bit of ham and mustard
Dinner - Mongo's Grill with friends. 1 bowl of stir fry, mainly veggies with black beans & chickpeas.
Snack - 3 healthy bites of rhubarb crisp
Another snack - Dried mango's and cherries
Lots of water

I stayed up way too late and decided to munch on the rest of the dried fruit in the house. Normally I don't have a problem with late night munching. It's the afternoons that I have to worry about. So if I hadn't had the rhubarb crisp and the extra dried fruit I would have been perfect. Let's face it, I'm not going to be perfect every day, am I?Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-32842625301213761422011-12-11T00:57:00.001-06:002011-12-11T01:09:39.206-06:00The End?
Whoops! I wrote the whole post (below) thinking that this was the last post of the challenge. Looks like I have one more week of redemption! So not planning to quit, not ever.

~~~~~~~~~~
Well, we made it through the challenge. I for one, stuck with it, but didn't do so well. I'm glad I stuck to this as it really made me think each week. I'm not going to join any more challenges for the moment but I'm not going to give up and stop. I just need to find out how to succeed. I know what I want, I just need to commit myself to doing it.
So thank you Mir for hosting this challenge. I've enjoyed every one of your butt kicking posts. I'll keep reading and follow along with the people in your next challenge. I wish you and the others the best!
Weight: I'm up like 2 lbs. I ate horrible this week. So I'm ending the challenge weighing in more than I was at the beginning. Embarrassing and I'm mad as heck about that. Obviously, the jacket still doesn't fit. It's still in my closet though!
Exercise: Bad week, ice has made it unfit for running outside and the treadmill and I still need to get reacquainted.
Book: I'm forever grateful that Mir recommended Wheat Belly. It really was the key to me figuring out this gluten intolerance. Loved the book and am continuing to learn more and more about it. Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-91046871568831648492011-12-05T06:38:00.000-06:002011-12-05T06:38:51.388-06:00Almost the end?
Whoops, sorry this is late. Busy, busy weekend. I have extra daycare kids here today so I was trying to get my kids to do a few lessons last night so they could play with their friends today. That's the beauty of homeschool, the flexibility.
I still am far away from fitting into a whole bunch of winter clothes. I have a whole bunch that I was HOPING to fit into. Instead, I'm stuck at the same weight and it doesn't appear that I'm moving. I need someone to smack me and tell me to get serious! No, actually, I need to find that switch and just flip it and take it seriously. That's what it comes down to, I'm just not taking it seriously. It's pretty stupid, I know.
Weight: Pretty much the same. Seriously, the last few months, it's has stayed remarkably the same. I'll go up a few pounds, then down a few pounds. I'll have one great week, then one stinky week. Consistency is a huge issue.
Water: Better, staying hydrated.
Exercise: Decent. I'm not walking or running quite as much as it's cold and icy now. I need to get used to the treadmill. Weights are going well.
I can't blame the holiday foods or anything in particular. It's me. All me. I need to figure out how to get back on track. Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-76240071365493819342011-11-27T22:32:00.000-06:002011-11-27T22:32:30.892-06:00Challenge Week 11
First up - check out this post on my recipe blog for Melt and enter us both to win a $500 giveaway! You have until November 30th to enter! Go enter the giveaway and then come back here. :-)
Now that you have the prospect of winning $500, I can tell you that I had a crummy week. All around crummy.
I ate bread. Lots of bread. I can't blame Thanksgiving, we don't have the traditional gorge fest so it had nothing to do with that. The 4 day weekend threw me but I wasn't doing too well before that either.
All eating bread does is make you crave more bread. So for the last few days, I wake up telling myself that I am not going to do it and then I find myself with 3 dinner rolls sopping up the leftover spaghetti sauce off my kids' plates. Now I'm going to wake up tomorrow wanting to do the same. I'm hoping that with the routine back to normal (and the dinner rolls gone) that we can get back to gluten free. All I get from the bread is a whopping headache and a gut that feels like it is going to explode.
Weight: Honestly, I didn't even look. I wasn't purposely avoiding, I just didn't care. Yea, not good.
Exercise: Decent. I've been consistently getting in 3 runs/walks a week but the last couple of weeks have been only 2 per week. It's getting cold and a few days have been icy. All in all, it's been a gorgeous fall in Minnesota and I'm thankful that I am still able to run outside at all. My run tonight went well. I'm planning to go out Tuesday and Thursday night this week as well.
Water: Eh. Not as good as I would like. The bread is soaking it all up. :-)Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-16369547333056319372011-11-20T21:03:00.002-06:002011-11-20T22:38:22.758-06:00Challenge Week 10
Well, if this were a challenge about maintaining your weight, then I would win, hands down. At the beginning of the week I had some swelling and I gained like 5 lbs. Odd, now it's back down. I was actually hoping it would be down as I felt I did good this week. I tracked and planned. I went off track a couple of times but nothing major. Ok, Mir wants a number, it's still hovering around 220. I'll break in the teens and then hop back up.
One day was kinda funny. I was in the mood to eat something sweet, so I started rummaging through the fridge and cupboards looking for "something". Then realizing that yogurt or fruit were about the sweetest things here, I just gave up. It so helps not to have junk in the house. Oh, I did steal a few spoonfuls of ice cream at some point this week. Ice cream isn't a big trigger for me so I do sometimes keep it in the house for the kids.
Water is continuing to be bad. I've been consistently bad with water the last few weeks. I'm not sure why. hmm... Gotta work on that.
Exercise is still good. We got our first snow so running outside won't be happening much anymore. Too bad as I hate the treadmill. Guess I'll have to get used to it for the winter. The snow should be gone by Tuesday so hopefully I can get a couple of runs in this week before we get more.
End of the year paperwork is creeping up on me so it's getting busy. Plus, I'm super behind in writing up recipes and organizing photos on my other blog so I haven't had time to really focus on this one.
So what are your plans for avoiding the holiday pies?? :-)Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-49908626865228315682011-11-14T05:55:00.000-06:002011-11-14T05:55:08.124-06:00Challenge Week 9
I didn't feel like posting this week. I did still plan and keep track, just not on the blog. I tried out a couple of online sites and tried it some different ways but really, I do better with just a notebook on my desk, really. There is something to be said about seeing it in print on the screen that does make it a bit more real but yet, the pen and paper work.
I had a decent week, still ended up eating about 300 - 400 more calories than planned each day. Grr.
Weight: I'm up a pound, I ate weird stuff on Saturday but hopefully the scale won't reflect the junk too bad.
Water: Actually, I had a bad week on water. It had become habit to drink a ton of water but I've slowly been going downhill on that. I have a post it note on my desk reminding me to drink!
Exercise: Pretty much the same. Still running. I can't believe how long I am running! I'm still running pretty darn slow but I'm running for longer and longer each week. I'll work on speed later. I can't go to my weight training class for the next two weeks so I have to do that at home. Shouldn't be a problem.
Let's hope for an awesome week!!Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2946185632715199820.post-30811539945869635222011-11-06T19:37:00.001-06:002011-11-06T19:54:58.622-06:00Challenge Week 8Ok, confession time.
The whole week went great. Really great. Saturday morning I showed a 2 lb. + loss, despite me eating too much on Friday night. Then I lost it. Saturday started good. We has a great morning out in service, then took 3 extra kids to The MN Science Museum and stayed there all day. Then we brought pizza and breadsticks home. And cookies. All of course with gluten.
Sigh. I indulged.
Only because they smelled so good, I wasn't even overly hungry. The stupid thing, is the mentality that, "Oh well, I already had a piece of pizza and a breadstick, I might as well have more. I already had a cookie, I might as well have 2 more." It was like I knew my body was already contaminated with the gluten so I might as well go all out. Ya, I know, it doesn't make sense. I didn't horribly binge or anything but I ate way too much and of course now I feel this brick of gluten in my belly. Plus, the bread cravings are right back now. Normally leftovers don't appeal to me but of course the leftover pizza and breadsticks in the fridge are driving me mad.
Self inflicted torture. That is what this is. I KNEW what would happen. Yet, I did it anyways.
I'm sticking with the 2 lb. loss and hopefully after a couple of days of getting this crap out, we'll be back on track.
**Ok, if you've been reading all this, I should tell you. I wrote the above this morning and never got around to finishing it. Now, it's 7:30 pm, I just finished my run for Brad's challenge AND, I just started my period.
Hmmm...
I hate to place blame on why I indulged in pizza this time and not before on the time of the month but I'm wondering if it's related. Sure, I've seen somewhat patterns before but never anything definitive. Usually, I'm having my period and I'll say something stupid like, "I'm having my period, it's okay to have the cookie." Yea, excuse. But this time, I didn't forsee that time of the month approaching (I never keep track) and I honestly didn't know WHAT came over me.
Moral of the long winded annoying story, I need to keep track and try to recognize it if it happens again.
Weight: I'm sticking with Saturday morning's weight of minus 2 lbs.
Exercise: Very good, keeping up with Brad's challenge. It's getting tougher and everytime I think I'm done and can go no further, I find strength and get through the next workout. I'm amazed. I still have my Monday night weight class and am trying to do more during the week of real exercise.
Water: Good up until this weekend. Operation flush and hydration continues tomorrow.
Book: I've been learning more and more about going gluten free and finding it easier and easier. *cough cough* except for the above pizza incident.
I know that my weight skyrockets during my period, like 4 pound gain type of thing so I'm not weighing myself until Saturday. Plan, plan, plan and I'll have success. Pizza is NOT planned this week.
Here is this weeks menu plan. I might switch days for things though.Debbi Does Dinner Healthyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11091564423796146580noreply@blogger.com6
