Challenge

So, I've been seeing Allans name pop up on all the weight loss blogs.  I've visited his site but there are just so many blogs, and so little time to read them all regularly. Anyways, I decided to check it out and he's starting Phase 3 of his challenge Tuesday, December 7th. It sounds intriguing.

What I like is that he's blunt and completely honest.  More importantly - He's Right.  If we are serious about losing weight, we don't need to be coddled.  We don't need to hear about all the fat free brownies that we can eat and how we "dont' have to deprive ourselves."  I've spent the last 30 years not being deprived of food so I think it's time for a little deprivation, right?  30 years of stuffing myself and not going hungry.  So if it takes me going a bit hungry for awhile, so be it.

I've had this blog for 6 months.  I've done nothing with it. I've made some stupid comments like "Well, at least I haven't gained weight".  While, yes, I suppose it IS good I haven't gained, it still is stupid.  I obviously care more about what goes in my mouth than what I look like, or how I feel.  I care more about eating than living.  I'm killing myself with this junk.

Enough.

If anyone is interested in joining, you need to do it soon, it stars on December 7th, you can enter until Monday, December 6th.  Here is the best post I could find with the rules.

I don't have a good track record with these challenges.  This is 3 weeks.  What's the worst that can happen?  I continue the stupidity and don't lose weight.  Or.  I can stay determined and do it.  I can choose life, not food.

  1. Good for you for joining the challenge! I'm alittle scared by Allan.

  2. This is by far my favorite post! Allan gives it to you straight- no sugar coating. You absolutely CAN do this, I know you can! Phase 3 is going to be tough, but it's so doable. Princess Dieter posted links to a lot of meal plans that fit into the calorie budget (I linked to her post on mine if you don't already follow her) and Allan will be sending packets with a lot more in it too. You're such a great cook, you'll have no problem coming up with dishes that keep you happy on it. You just have to make yourself a priority, as hard as that can be some days! Sending hugs and motivation!!

  3. Welcome to the challenge! I'm in, too, and I'll be cheering for you. I think it makes a lot of sense, and will take all the help I can get to make it through the holidays.

  4. Oh I'm so glad you are joining Debbie. He has helped me with this journey of mine. 11 lbs in November, I'm hoping my last 10 lbs in December and then the new year a bit more. I know you can do it. I KNOW YOU CAN!!!!
Take care Debbie and good luck. Allan is straight and to the point, you don't have to guess what he has to say or read between any lines. That's what makes it the best for me.
Have a great evening. God Bless!!

  5. You can do it! I record everything I eat and try to keep it at 1650 calories. My husband laughs because I whip out my phone to check calorie counts when we go out to eat. But it works for me. There are a lot of things that you can eat for the calories, you put the recipes out there yourself!
I'll keep reading and praying for you.

  7. I'm with you all the way. Once you really commit, like you are, you will find you have more strength than you ever thought. Allan will be as straight as they come. Many bloggers find this helpful. The most important thing is that you commit. You CAN do it and move for ward to a healthier life.
