New Blog

Ok, so I just created this new blog for posting my dieting successes or blunders.  Before I just had a page on my other blog. I figured that would get pretty long so this might be easier. I just posted all my thoughts and calories consumed for the last few days to get caught up.

I ate about 1300 calories today.  I have been doing good with not snacking.  That is my weakness. I love to snack. It's so easy just to take a handful of crackers or nibble on the leftovers of the kids' plates.  I did grab a couple of pretzels but stopped right there.  So that would be a success.

Successful Weekend!

Whew!  I made it through the whole weekend doing really good. I am pretty sure I finished up the day under 1400 calories.  I had to estimate the turkey wrap from Costco.  It was healthier than pizza or a hot dog but probably stil a lot of calories with the cheese and mayo.  It was good and filled me up.

Saturday

It's Saturday.

I typically let myself "go" a bit on the weekend but since I am just starting (or re-starting), I am still trying to be strict with myself.  Plus, I've been letting myself "go" for WAYYYYY too long so there is no time for that during the first week.

I had just over 1300 calories today.  There has been something going around and my throat is killing me!  So the thought of eating is not appealing.  Plus I had eggs for dinner.  I love eggs, they really keep me full!

Evil Amish Friendship Bread

Amish bread. A new segment on my recipe blog. I forgot about that. I certainly don't HAVE to keep making it but I am enjoying finding and creating new ways to make this bread (so far) so I will keep it up. The bread has about 9,000,000 calories per loaf. So I have to be careful. I broke off a decent sized chunk and estimated, hopefully a high estimate.

I did really, really good the rest of the day and I think even with the Almond Joy Bread, I came in about 1500 calories. Not bad at all. So every 10 days will be a treat day and I will eat a decent size piece of Amish bread.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chips

I have a goal for how much weight I want to lose by the end of the year. 40 lbs. I wanted to make this goal a year ago. *sigh* This SHOULD be an easy goal, it means about 1 1/2 lbs. of weight loss a week. I have done this before and I can do it again. By no means will I be "done" losing weight after this 40 lbs. But this 40 lbs. NEEDS to come off.

I ate about 1400 calories today. This included 75 freaking calories for a tbsp. of peanut butter chocolate chips. I made the kids banana pancakes and couldn't resist taking a bit of the chips. Not smart. But delicious.

The First Day. Again.

Today is the day. I have to get back the weight loss mind set. Seriously. I lost like 100 lbs. a year ago and now I have been creeping up.

Today, Beth from Biggest Diabetic Loser posted a 101 days of summer challenge. The challenge is to set a goal and to let her know each week, how it went. So today I am starting. Again.

My goal is to keep track of all the calories I've been eating throughout the day. So far so good!

I only had about 1250 calories today. Which is low. I did have a small dinner and we left the house this evening otherwise I would have had a light snack. I am hungry going to bed. Oh well. Day 1 was a success!
